Note from Singer/ Songwriter Kelli Fusaro:
I will share with you that I wrote this song and began songwriting as a business out of coping with the loss of my grandmother – who was like a mother to me – in 1995. I remember driving my car on a back road near my home several months after her passing while saying “I wish that you were here with me – listening the way you used to.” It was then that the chorus of this song came to me – “By my voice, my words will call you. I’m whispering your name and loving you the same as when we touched”. I felt moved to pull off of the road to write down these lyrics. I had to use a napkin for paper. I placed the napkin in my piano bench and completed this song one year later. It took me about a year to realize that those we love deeply, never really leave us. They are removed physically, but their spiritual presence is very much alive in our hearts. Share the truth that those we love deeply never really leave us. Peace comes in knowing and recognizing the spiritual presence of our loved one in our lives.
